HALLMARK
Bodegas Araico is a company of family origin, located in Villabuena de Álava (Rioja Alavesa), dedicated to the cultivation of the vine. It is a small company that was constituted as such in the year 1986.
VINEYARD CARETAKERS
The Araico family takes care of its own vineyards; in order to make its “village wines” (vinos de pueblo in Spanish), it selects 36 hectares of land. These vineyards are located in Villabuena itself and in its surroundings, and they are between 30 and 100 years old. Their average age is 50 years old.
Family and tradition
Julian
After 25 years working alongside two of his brothers to build this project, it is now time to continue alongside his children. He provides the experience of a life making wine, and a direct contact with his clients.
Inmaculada
Is there anybody better for supporting a family business than a mother? She and Julián run this project, and they both provide their experience.
Miguel
He is in charge of the whole technical work within the winery and, alongside Julián, he designs, makes, and tastes the wine. They also set the best moment for the wines to go on the market and to be enjoyed.
Estibaliz
She is in charge of both the commercial area and the wine tourism for the winery. She is the public face, and the person you will find if you decide to come to visit us.
